Flamboyant asymmetric design, heavily modelled in brass, is decorated with bold C scrolls and stylised acanthus foliage. Below the dial is a fretted panel with a stylised shell above. The modelling is crisp and well detailed with a bright and clean finish. The beautiful dial is unusual in having a delicate pale blue enamel background with raised white enamel cartouche lettering. It has a heavy bevelled glass fitted to the bezel and original brass hands. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. It is the larger plate version of the "Pendule De Paris" movement and has the clockmakers mark on the movement backplate. Pendulum is a replacement. Condition of the case is excellent, we have gently cleaned and polished the case to a bright and clean finish, there is some wear and minor discolouration in places. It is modelled in the Rococo style with sweeping asymmetric acanthus leaves, floral swags and crowned by a mythical dolphin sitting in a 'C' scroll. It is of lovely quality with a clean and bright finish ready to grace any room. A rare feature is the original oak back board, finished with red velvet, which beautifully frames the clock. The dial is enamel on copper with a cast brass centre and is complete with original blued steel hands and convex, bevelled glass. The mark of the Paris retailer Maison Henri Riondet, Comptoir General, Boulevard Poissonnière is on the movement backplate, together with the clockmakers mark of Samuel Marti The Samuel Marti movement is of this makers usual high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully serviced by our clockmaker. It is beautifully modelled in gilded brass, in the Louis XVI style. A symmetric keyhole shape decorated with floral swags and acanthus leaves. It features a large enamel on copper dial, off-white with blued steel hands and an egg-and-dart bezel. To the top of the clock is a large elaborate urn. The French movement is of high quality and is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled by our clockmaker. Pendulum is original.
