Foliot Wall Clock

Foliot Wall Clock Tube. Duration : 1.37 Mins.

Pure wood, unique, hand-made, ancient clock from the 1600's. A perfect reproduction of the original. One hand, 12-14 working hours, worked by 2 stone weights. The foliot clock is one of the first clocks, maybe only sand-glasses were used before foliot clocks. It is a perfect, faultless piece, which makes it really rare in its own category too. There are only a few pieces left from these clocks. Each of the mechanic clock's movement is based on this clock. Despite its significance, nobody knows who invented this type of clock, however there are rumours about a bishop named Gerbertus (later Pope Sylvester II.), that he was the inventor in 996.
